Virgin Islands yacht charter Twilight Rodeo survived Hurricane Maria! Whew!
Thankfully, the boat survived with only minor damage – the rig and hulls are still intact with no holes or structure damage – only minor gel coat damage.
They were lucky!
While in Puerto Rico, Twilight Rodeo took the opportunity to freshen up the yacht and her crew.
Here’s a list of improvements:
This charter was our first look at the BVI since the storms, and we had a great family on board to experience it with. We celebrated family traditions and started some new ones as well. The highlight of the trip was swimming with a family of wild dolphins in Cane Garden Bay! They enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to coming back – without kids
Paul – I couldn’t have asked for a better Captain. Thank you for your patience, expertise, and humour. Jody – I could not have asked for a better cook/boat mom. Thanks for dishing out some of the best food and some of the wittiest remarks. -Stirling
I truly cannot imagine a better week. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of the islands and of sailing. All the meals were fabulous. We hope to be back! -AB
This group had a party wherever they went! From Foxy’s on Old Year’s Night to party on board at Cooper Island, they brought everyone around them along for the fun! Their highlight was Paradise Bar at Cane Garden Bay on New Year’s Day. The bar opened up just for them, and before we knew it, we had a big beach party with tourists and locals alike! They loved the sunsets and the time to be together as friends. We are still receiving messages from them – Chicago is really really cold!
What a great first experience for us! Paul and Jody were amazing and always made sure to get us to the best spots and make sure we had a great time. Looking forward to our next trip! Thank you! – Aaron and Lauren Rahn
Thank you for a great trip! I really enjoyed the charter route – you introduced us to so many new and beautiful places. Our trip had everything we asked for and more. Until next time… -Kelly and Josh Horeni
These Canadian guests sure are enjoying the sunshine! We’re halfway through the charter and they are loving every stop! The highlight (so far) has been winning the conch shell-blowing contest at the Michael Beans Happy Arrr Show in Leverick Bay. We are excited to have Queen Conch on board, and can’t wait for our next adventures with them!
Captain Paul and Chef Jody have been running Virgin Islands yacht charters together for the past 10 years. Their love for the islands shows when you first meet them and step aboard. Paul has lived in the Caribbean for the last 16 years and hails from North Carolina. In addition to being a previous dive instructor and Aquarist (very cool for aquarium lovers) at Coral World in St. Thomas, Paul holds his US Coast Guard Masters License. He also has CPR/First Aid and PADI Certifications.
His love of sailing, tales of local lore, and genuine Southern hospitality will make your vacation safe, fun and entertaining. Paul loves to share his knowledge of sailing, the Caribbean lifestyle, and the unbelievable marine life below the surface.
Captain Paul knows the Virgin Islands like the back of his hand. Chef Jody loves preparing fresh bread, pastries and desserts in addition to her variety of cuisines.
They are a California and Southern hospitality blend making for a wonderful Virgin Islands boat charter in a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.
