About the Virgin Islands

The Virgin Islands are ideal for your first yacht charter vacation or for someone who wishes to enjoy a blend of water and land activities. Sailing distances are relatively short, with beautiful beaches, protected anchorages, good snorkeling, beach bars, and shopping.

The British Virgin Islands

As it is known, the BVI is ideal for sailing charters for novice sailing guests. The sails are short, and the sailing area is protected, with very little time on the open sea. Most yacht charters start from Tortola and end on Tortola. We recommend chartering for at least one week to enjoy the many islands, bars, restaurants, snorkeling, and more.

Popular places to visit are Anegada, Norman Island, Peter Island, Virgin Gorda, and Jost Van Dyke. In addition, you will be able to visit at least two different anchorages each day. However, you may choose to spend multiple nights in one location.

Please note that a few crewed sailboats are for charter in the British Virgin Islands. Sailing catamarans have replaced monohull sailboats.

U.S. Virgin Islands | Sailboat Charter

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, is the main port of departure when chartering in the USVI. Most large sailboats will depart from Charlotte Amalie and a few from Red Hook. Most major US Airlines provide service to the International Airport on St. Thomas. First-class hotel accommodations, restaurants, bars, and a good infrastructure contribute to a good experience.

Departing from St. Thomas, your captain and crew will sail the group to the famous islands and anchorages. For example, Water Island, Christmas Cove, and St. John with more than ten beautiful beaches and hikes.

Undoubtedly, St. John is the most famous island to visit on a U.S. Virgin Islands charter. More than 60 percent of the island is a U.S. National Park. There is shopping, beautiful beaches, bars, and restaurants, and the snorkeling is fantastic.

And for the more adventurous, the captain can sail to St. Croix. Home of the most easterly point in the United States – Point Udall. In addition, there are historical sites, rum distilleries, and the Crucian Hook love bracelet sold at the stores in Christiansted.
