Learn to Sail Charter – Become an ASA-certified sailor while on vacation by chartering one of these fine yachts that offer ASA sailing courses. The sailing area is the Virgin Islands on either mono-hull sailboats or catamarans. We feel this is one of the best and possibly even underrated charter experiences to have. Why not kill two birds with one stone. It’s true, you can enjoy your amazing charter all while actually working on becoming ASA-certified. When doing so please make sure to inform your charter broker of your intent to learn to sail as well as working on your ASA-certification as some captains may not be in the position to do so.
I can tell you, I have a very fond memory of my first time sailing. My brother-in-law had a 33-foot Endeavor docked in Tortola BVI. He told me we were going to go sailing on this particular day and for some reason, I remember I was excited but not necessarily thrilled. Wow, did that change after a full day of sailing the stunning BVI. Put it this way, that day was over 20 years ago and I remember so much of it! I helped him with the sails, he taught me some basics of tacking. After that day on the water sailing, I was in love!
