Grenada Government officials have transferred the Carriacou customs and immigration procedures to the Carriacou Marine Boatyard and Yacht Club in Tyrell Bay on the island of Carriacou, Grenada. The shift of the Carriacou Customs Office is expected to make the process safer, faster and easier for cruisers and charterers.
This is because the anchorage at Tyrell Bay is more protected than the former site at the nearby waterfront town of Hillsborough, whose rolly anchorage is more exposed to northerly swells and potentially more dangerous.
Customs office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday (closed from 12:00Noon to 1:00 PM for lunch) and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. Carriacou Marine also offers haul-out services, dockage, dinghy dock, mini-mart, café & bar, and a chandlery. For details consult the Yard.
When departing, you may clear out during normal working hours and leave within 24 hours. For the convenience of both officers and clients, they suggest attending the office by 1500 in order to complete formalities before the end of the working day.
Customs and Immigration at Carriacou Marine now have their own dedicated telephone in their office, please call: +1 473 443 7273
