“You Make the Memories, We’ll Make the Arrangements”

Located in the Southern Caribbean Sea, Bonaire and Curacao are part of the ABC Islands (Aruba Bonaire and Curaçao). Also known as the Netherlands Antilles. They lie outside of the hurricane zone. It’s the perfect Caribbean vacation spot, 365 days a year! Why not adventure with a Bonaire and Curacao Yacht charter?

The ABC islands are close enough to mainland Venezuela to share similar cultures but far enough away to keep their unique identity. They lie outside the hurricane belt, making them perfect for year-round travel and tourism.

The three islands all have something different to offer from one another: Aruba has pristine beaches and beautiful sunsets; Bonaire has abundant wildlife, such as flamingos and sea turtles; Curaçao has quaint architecture with colorful markets filled with fresh produce from local vendors. All three have a rich history of colonialism by European powers, including the Netherlands, which still retains an administrative role in their governance today.

Scuba in Bonaire

The weather doesn’t change significantly, so you can expect sunny days with temperatures around 29’C with refreshing trade wind breezes to cool you down. Since the weather is so exceptional, you probably will not need to pack a jacket.

People and Culture

English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamentu (local dialect) are spoken throughout the Islands. Currency is the US dollar or Antillean Guilder (on Curacao).

The US dollar has a fixed rate of 1.78. Local food specialties are often Krioyo (Creole). A mix of Dutch, Caribbean, Indonesian, and International Cuisine make up the mainstay of restaurant dining.

Uninhabited Klein Curacao

Enjoy the peaceful waters of uninhabited Klein Curacao. The abandoned lighthouse and shipwrecks wait to be explored.

Turtles and dolphins swim in the waters. At only 1.7 square km, it’s barely more than an atoll. The white sand beaches of Klein Curacao rise from the Caribbean Sea and beckon you to its shores.

Note: The best currency to use in Curacao is the “Florin.” USD is accepted in most places. However, US coins are often not. Therefore you will want to exchange for some Florin coins; keep in mind there is an exchange rate.

Things to Do | Bonaire and Curacao Yacht Charter

In addition to watersports, there is hiking, golfing, tennis, fencing, cave walks, ATVs, horseback riding, rock climbing, mountain biking, and bird-watching.

  • The Synagogue Mikvé Israël Emanuel is the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. Protected archaeological sites feature remnants of human settlements dating back to the Archaic age from 2,500 B.C.) Also, there are many museums to explore this colorful history.
  • Visit Lac Bay. Go snorkeling and diving in the crystal-clear blue waters. This shallow bay is a playground for snorkelers and divers, teeming with vibrant coral reefs and fascinating marine life.

More things to do…

  • Curacao is a modern city with many casinos, discos, bars, clubs, and two movie theaters. There is plenty of International, local, and duty-free shopping.
  • Locals usually celebrate Caribbean Carnival throughout January and February. The North Sea Jazz Festival in late August brings a variety of international bands and musicians to the Island.
  • More than a dozen art galleries showcase local, Caribbean, and international art.
  • Snorkel Klein Bonaire. Snorkeling at No Name Beach should not be missed. It is a highlight of what’s available in Bonaire, and it is a small, flat, uninhabited island just a half mile offshore from Bonaire and is protected by the national park. It has one of the only truly sandy beaches in Bonaire.
  • Black sand beaches. Black Stone Beach is the only beach in Aruba with black sand. It’s also lined with small, shimmery rocks eroded by the water and has become sharp and edgy over time. A unique beach to check out.
